End of Life Doula
Providing a continued relationship, comfort, and guidance to those facing a terminal illness and eventual death.
As an end of life Doula I do not offer medical care other than what is in my scope of practice as a massage therapist and sound practitioner. Over the years, it has become common for clients to ask me to continue caring for them as they face their final days. It is truly an honor and I am grateful for those who want me by their side.
I am here to help the person understand their wants and needs during this difficult time. This comes in many forms:
- listening and responding honestly about death and the dying process
- bringing his genuine nature, intuitive and calming presence, healing energy
- working alongside hospice and other healthcare providers
- supporting for the family and loved ones
- finding creative ways to honor the person after they have died
- creating a guided meditation or ritual specific to a person’s religious faith or spirituality
- providing sound healings to enhance overall well-being and relaxation through sound vibration and breath
- allowing space for the person who is dying to have a voice
- allowing the family to have a chance to rest knowing we’re together, side by side
- offering a background rich in study of death and dying and experience at the bedside of hundreds of dying people
- understanding the physiological changes that occur and recognizes the comfort needs of each individual
